A roll (“coil”) of metal is coated continuously between 2 rollers as it moves through a coil coater station. The coated metal is then cured as it passes through a high-temperature oven. Once coated and cured, the metal is re-rolled and shipped to the manufacturer, where the final product is formed.
Coil application is best suited for application to a Tin-free Steel (TFS) and aluminum used for a variety of metal gauges for bakeware.
What are the advantages of coil coatings?
- 98% efficiency
- Direct transfer of the coating to the metal
- Cost-efficient requiring minimum personnel and manufacturing investment
- Uniformity providing an even coating thickness
