Fluoropolymer
Coatings Manufacturer
Whitford custom-engineers coatings to provide low friction, corrosion
resistance,
UV and weather resistance, chemical resistance, abrasion resistance,
decorative colors, flexibility — whatever it takes to solve
our customers' problems. Our coatings may be
applied by spray, HVLP, dip/spin, curtain, roller, coil, electrostatic
or as a powder.
Company
Profile
Whitford is a worldwide organization operating in more than fifty
countries. We make the largest, most complete line of fluoropolymer
coatings in the world.
In
The Beginning
From its very beginning, Whitford has taken a global approach
to its business; a point of view that has been key to what success
the company has enjoyed.
Selling
Products or Solving Problems
Some companies develop products in the abstract — and then
bend problems to fit the products. We at Whitford take the opposite
point of view.
Research
and Development
By definition, solving new and difficult problems demands an investment
in research and development. This, in fact, may be our chief competitive
advantage.
Quality
There is never enough control in quality control. It takes time,
costs money and isn't perfect. But the closer we come to perfection,
the happier our customers are — and the better our business
becomes.
Microcosmics
at Work
Whitford products sell in more than fifty countries, frequently
to customers who are not yet highly skilled in the application
of high-performance coatings. So we are often called by customers
with problems. They need help, and they need it fast.
Training
In 1990, we decided to share what we have learned with our customers
— and founded “Whitford University”, a lofty
name for an intensely practical three-day training program held
in several of our offices.
Company
Firsts
Our focus on solving problems has led to a series of "firsts"
within the industry.
The
Greening of Whitford
Today, we make environmentally acceptable analogues for most of
our product lines, with hundreds of "green" formulae
available to our customers.
The
Whitford Ethos
Successful companies tend to have several things in common: clear
direction, the will to excel, and a distinctive personality.
The
Future of Whitford
We intend to continue to be the company with the largest, most
complete line of fluoropolymer coatings in the world. We continue
to believe that problems are only solutions in hiding —
and we enjoy the search.
Registered
Trademarks
Name recognition and consequent quality perceptions are an integral
part of any marketing program; be it local or, as Whitford's program
is, worldwide. We currently use several trademarks around the
world. To protect the marks described below we have registered
them or have applied to register them in over forty countries.
Cookware,
Bakeware and Appliance Coatings
Whitford manufactures a wide range of nonstick coatings for consumer
applications of all types, from frying pans to coffee-plate warmers
to waffle makers. These coatings range from inexpensive one-coats
to more expensive reinforced three-coats, so the manufacturer
and the ultimate consumer can select the price and performance
level ideally suited to their needs.
