Registered Trademarks

Name recognition and consequent quality perceptions are an integral part of any marketing program; be it local or, as Whitford's program is, worldwide.

We currently use several trademarks around the world. To protect the marks described below we have registered them or have applied to register them in over forty countries.

Whitford ® : Registered throughout the world either as the word itself, or where allowed, in our own distinctive logotype style.

Xylan ® : Whitford's largest, most diversified range of economical nonstick coatings. Xylan comes in one-, two- and three-coat versions, including a "no-blast" version that eliminates a messy and costly step in the production process. Xylan is ideal for all substrates.

Xylac ® : This trademark is used to identify our high-temperature decorative materials most often utilized as exterior coatings for cookware.

Dykor ® : In use for nearly 15 years to describe our fluoropolymer (generally PVDF) solutions and dispersions. The acquisition of Pennwalt's Kynar® 200 Series of PVDF dispersions early in 1988 has served to expand and broaden the use of this registered trademark. (Kynar is a registered trademark of Elf Atochem.) The line has been extended to include our powder coatings as well.


Xylar ® : Used to identify our inorganic coating materials capable of operating at extremely high temperatures. When used as basecoats, these materials offer increased resistance to salt spray by several orders of magnitude.

Ultralon ® : Purchased from ICI Americas in 1990, the Ultralon Series has many applications in both industrial and consumer nonstick markets.

Excalibur ® : Whitford's best coating system for stainless steel applications. It is the toughest, longest-lasting, most durable nonstick system in the world. That's because Excalibur is reinforced externally with a patented stainless-steel alloy that is arc-sprayed onto the surface of the pan. The stainless-steel matrix locks the coating into place.
Eclipse ® : The recommended coating for all types of aluminum. Eclipse is a unique coating system that outlasts other reinforced coatings by a factor of ten. Its primer and midcoat contain unusually hard reinforcing elements that provide superior resistance to abrasion. Its topcoat is dedicated entirely to release.

QuanTanium ® : Reinforced with titanium to stand up to almost anything. Less expensive than Eclipse, its space-age reinforcing materials provide remarkable resistance to all types of wear. QuanTanium is ideal for all substrates.

Quantum2 ® : The nonstick doubly reinforced to outlast all conventional nonsticks, even the most heavily advertised versions. Quantum2 works perfectly on all substrates.

Suave ® : A "soft touch" decorative coating used wherever a tactile touch adds value (handles, trays, many housewares items). Works well on virtually all substrates.
