QuanTanium™
vs. “Best”
three-coat nonstick
General Information
Whitford
Test Method 135C measures the resistance of coatings to a weighted
ScotchBrite™ pad that moves back and forth over the coating.
Results are
measured in number of cycles until the coating wears through,
revealing the substrate.
In this test, Whitford’s QuanTanium™, a new nonstick
coating reinforced with titanium is tested against “Nescote”,
a leading three-coat nonstick.
After 35,000 cycles, QuanTanium shows only slight wear while
the previous “best” nonstick has worn through to
the substrate.
